Andy Ritchie has today revealed that the club have been in talks with Wrexham hit-man Juan Ugarte.
Unfortunately the 22goal star who scored FIVE past Hartlepool last season is keen on a Championship move with Crewe and Coventry interested.
Ritchie told the Official Site:
"We made an offer to Juan and his agent spoke to us again this morning.
"It was a positive reply but the player wants to test himself at Championship level next season and I know that Crewe Alexandra and Coventry City are interested.
"However, his agent also told me that Juan would be still interested in a move to Oakwell if nothing came from the Championship".
Reds chairman Gordon Shepherd also confirmed: "We have been speaking to Juan Ugarte's agent for the last four weeks".
