Valentine's Massacre Has To Wait

Barnsley will have to wait a little longer for their revenge on Sheffield United and Chris Morgan after the original date of the match at Bramall Lane- ironically Valentines Day, 14th February- has had to be changed due to United's FA Cup commitments that weekend.

United defeated Charlton at the weekend to set up a fifth round date with Premier League Hull City, and that game is now likely to take place on 14th February. No date has been set for the Sheffield United - Barnsley as of yet.

Meanwhile former Barnsley midfielder Andy Johnson has signed for Blue Square North side Kings Lynn after his release from Oakwell last week. Johnson, who signed for The Reds on a free transfer from Leicester City in the summer of 2007, started the first five games of the 2007-2008 season before being mysteriously omitted by Davey and he never played again before having his contract terminated by mutual consent last week.

And finally two former Barnsley old boys saw their FA Cup dreams ended at the weekend. Full-back Nicky Eaden who became a legend at Oakwell during his 336 appearances in which he helped The Reds into the Premier League, was part of the Kettering side that bravely went down 4-2 to Premier League Fulham on Saturday, whilst another Barnsley graduate Nicky Wroe played for Torquay who were defeated 1-0 by Coventry thanks to a late Elliott Ward goal.
