Villains To Raid On A Saturday Night

Barnsley have seen their home fixture with Aston Villa in September moved to a 5:30pm kick-off as it will now be shown live on Sky Sports.

The match which is likely to see former captain Conor Hourihane and academy graduate James Bree make their first returns to Oakwell was originally scheduled for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday 16th September but it will now be played two and a half hours later. Ironically, both Hourihane and Bree’s final games for Barnsley were played in front of the Sky cameras at 5:30pm on a Saturday – the 3-2 win over Leeds in January when Hourihane scored the winner.

Meanwhile both games against Sheffield Wednesday have been moved forward after consultations with South Yorkshire police. The Reds travel to Hillsborough on Saturday 28th October at 12:30pm with the return fixture on Saturday 10th February at 12:15pm.

This follows on from both meetings with Sheffield United and (so far) the Oakwell clash with Leeds being moved forward. Barnsley travel to Bramall Lane on Saturday 19th August (12:15) with the return on Saturday 7th April (12:15) whilst the Oakwell clash with their West Yorkshire foes from Elland Road is on Saturday 25th November (12:15)
