Gudjon Thordarson said: "He just woke up in the morning and his knee had locked. It could mean he needs an operation."
The Reds have been trying unsuccessfully to sign a new striker for a while and have most recently been linked with Danny Dichio (now on loan at Millwall) and Iwan Roberts though Gudjon has denied speaking to the player or Norwich.
