Who Do You Think Your KIDDing Davey?

Barnsley's manager and assistant manager obviously need to communicate more after they both gave conflicting reports on the rumours surrounding a move for Coventry's City Michael Mifsud.

After SKY Sports broke the news of a six figure fee (believed to be £300,000) being offered by Barnsley for Mifsud last night, Simon Davey rubbished the talk saying there had been no bid.

But today assistant manager Ryan Kidd- standing in for Davey who was in London at his FA hearing- hinted in the pre- Bristol City press conference that a move for Mifsud might be on.

He refused to give a straight answer but told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"We'd love to have Michael Mifsud at Barnsley or anybody of that quality and we're working hard to do that," "Anybody that scores that many in the Championship we'd love to bring in."

If any move is made for Mifsud it is doubtful it will be concluded before Saturday's trip to Ashton Gate.

Kidd also confirmed that there had been intense interest in Kayode Odejayi but confirmed there had been no firm bids for the misfiring striker who now looks set to depart Oakwell sooner rather than later.
