This Saturday’s encounter with Blackpool is to be Barnsley’s only Saturday match in January after the clash with Wigan, scheduled for Saturday 25th January has been postponed until Tuesday 18th February due to the Latics participation in the FA Cup.
Cup holders Wigan defeated MK Dons in a replay last night and will now face Crystal Palace in the Fourth Round on the 25th.
Remarkably, thanks also to last week’s postponement at Charlton, by the end of January four of Barnsley’s last five matches will have been at home, and a month will separate their last away game (at Birmingham on New Year’s Day) from their next (at Sheffield Wednesday on the 1st February.)
