Yeovil After Nads

Boss Andy Ritchie has revealed that he has turned down a bid from League One rivals Yeovil to sign striker Daniel Nardiello on loan.

Nardiello has struggled to break into the first team since signing permanently in the summer from Manchester United after two successful loan spells. He has made only seven starts this season with twenty three appearances from the bench scoring four goals.

Ritchie also revealed ex Barnsley manager Gudjon Thordarson ( the man that brought Nardiello to Oakwell and in my opinion the only one to get the best out of him) has tried to bring him to his current club, League Two Notts County for the past three weeks.

Ritchie told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk

"I had a call from Yeovil about Daniel and whether we'd let him out but he is not going anywhere.

"We need him here. Gudjon Thordarson has been trying to get him to Notts County for the last three weeks and the answer was the same."

Overall Nardiello has made 33 starts for the club plus 44 as substitute scoring 18 goals.

His most prolific spell was when Thordarson brought him here on loan in 2003/2004 and he scored 8 goals in 18 starts including 2 on his debut.

He was then frozen out under Paul Hart and has failed to sufficiently impress Andy Ritchie
