Barnsley 0-1 Cardiff City: Post Match Reaction

Last updated : 17 September 2008 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

"We did not perform in the first half. We got back into it in the second half but we huffed and puffed without getting the breakthrough. I think Cardiff had their fair share in the first half and we had 30 minutes that cost us the game. We tried to get back into it after the break but just ran out of time.

"I thought Luke Steele and our back four played well but I am sick and frustrated at saying the same things week in, week out. We need to start picking up points. Martin Devaney dropped out with sickness at 5pm and Iain Hume has been taking sleeping tablets for the last couple of days to try and get over his jetlag. At times we looked good but at others we did not.

"I thought our set pieces were poor tonight and we should not be hitting the first man like that. You cannot go out there and take it for them so it is up to the players when they cross that white line.

"We have a situation now where performances have been good but results haven't. We now have carte blanche to do what we want at Southampton and we have players out of the team who are desperate to get back in. Anderson de Silva will also play in a behind closed doors game tomorrow and he might be ready to go straight back in so we will have to wait and see".
