Barnsley 0-1 Doncaster: Post Match Reaction

Last updated : 28 March 2010 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

"We kept going but it was just a disappointing day all round. We have a game now on Tuesday at Plymouth to try and pick up the pints we should have had last time. Supporters expectations have changed here this season which is great but we have to live up to that now. We have got ourselves into a good position this season but thrown that away.

"Doncaster play good football and I thought they moved the ball better than us in the first half. We coped with that quite well.

"I went with a system to try and get a foothold in the game at the start. Leaving out your leading goalscorer is never an easy decision but Daniel (Bogdanovic) rocked his ankle in the first half at Bristol City and we thought we would be lucky to get half an hour out of him today.

"We made an enforced change in the first half with Daniel coming on for Filipe (Teixeira) and it was just before they scored. Doncaster play a short corner most of the time and we got sucked into the ball and left Coppinger. It was a very disappointing goal to concede from our point of view. It was basic stuff.

"We limited Doncaster in the first half albeit without really creating much. We were always going to be chasing the game in the second half and that is difficult to do against Doncaster. We created a bit more in the second half as per our form this season.

"It has been a decent season until now and we have to guard against complacency. We cannot think that the job has been done and they need reminded of that.

"Losing a derby game in that manner is very disappointing and I understand the reaction of the supporters.

"We had some good chances and if there was anyone you'd want them to fall to in the area then it would be Hugo (Colace). When those do not go in then you start to think that maybe it is not going to be your day.

"I expect a response and a strong reaction on Tuesday".
