Barnsley 0-2 Crewe: Post Match Reaction

"We should have been home and hosed. We've had that many chances in the game, you can't go through a game like that and not score."

"When you have that many chances, converting one can change the game but we didn't get the opportunity to put it in the back of the net - and we've paid for it.

"We gave a sloppy goal away - both goals in fairness. We didn't pick up at the back post.

"Before that, it's just frustrating because we're not far away. There's little things in our attacking play.

"Sam could have had himself three of four goals and Martin Cranie and Dom McHale.

"We'll get there. Football-wise it's been good at times. We'll have to tighten up our defensive display.

"There's one thing we do know is that it will get better. In the meantime, we have to make sure if we aren't scoring goals that we aren't as loose.

One real shining light tonight was the performance of James Bree who, on his first start and second appearance, completed a very composed and impressive 90 minutes.

"I've got to be careful what I say here, apart from being class. The boy was excellent. He's got an old head on young shoulders. He plays the game terrifically well.

"There's only one or two things that are missing. He's had a fantastic game tonight."
