"I think we deserved that in the end. We knew it was always going to be a tough game against a good side but we got the goal we needed and three points we deserved.

"We were unlucky not to score more really and I felt we thoroughly deserved that.

"We created a lot of chances in the first half and played very well. It was s fast flowing game and we always knew that Burnley would come back into it.

"We know that we are down the wrong end of the league for a reason and we knew that Burnley would come at us but we stood up to that. We deserved that win over the 90 minutes.

"I am delighted to come away with the right result after a good performance.

"The workrate has been fantastic for the last month and today we showed great commitment and courage out there. I cannot praise my lads highly enough.

"I recalled Martin Devaney today and I am delighted that he got his goal and played very well. I am pleased for him.

"Robert Atkinson has been doing well at Halifax and he came in and again did well for us. He had great potential and was up against a very string Burnley attack. I did not recognise him after the game because he is battered and has two black eyes but he was magnificent.

"Paul Reid missed the game after his ankle injury flared up again over the weekend. He will be a doubt for Saturday.

"Brian Howard will definitely miss next weekend's match. We will have to wait for the swelling to go down before we know more after a scan".
