"I thought we deserved that so it was not really an extra two points at the end of the day. I thought we were excellent today in difficult conditions and we coped with everything Cardiff could throw at us.
"It was difficult to pass the ball but we kept trying to play in the right way and we could have gone in front before we did. To keep a clean sheet and get three points against a side like Cardiff is a credit to the players. They were outstanding today.
"I was actually trying to take Carl Dickinson off the free kick at the end but with the aid of a deflection it ended up in the back of the net. He really deserves that goal and I think it was his first ever, which was another reason why I was trying to get him off the free kick.
"We were superb today and we deserved to win the game".
