Barnsley 1-0 Sheffield United: Post Match Reaction

Last updated : 13 December 2010 By Rob Miles (Barnsley Boy)

"It has been years since we have beaten them and I felt that we were good value for it. Sheffield United came here and made it very difficult. Gary (Speed) said before the game that is would be a war of attrition and they really set their stall out like that.

"They pressed us and made it very difficult. The only downside for us today was that we did not add to that goal.

"Our supporters sang their hearts out today and we gave them another derby win. The part our supporters play here cannot be underestimated at all.

"We are trying to get more people through the turnstiles. We have signed Garry O'Connor until the end of the season and that is testament to the ambition of everybody here at Barnsley Football Club. We need to add to the coffers so we can bring more in.

"It is very important to add to the revenue to help Patrick Cryne. He is our sole benefactor and together with the supporters they are the lifeblood of this club".
