Barnsley 1-1 Brentford: Post Match Reaction

Last updated : 17 April 2017 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)
"I'm really pleased with it from start to finish, except for the end product, we missed a couple of really good chances, one-on-ones and the 'keeper made a couple of really good saves with shots from distance.

"We were wasteful from some crosses. In terms of the shot count and shots on target we were way ahead, but it matters about getting the ball in the back of the net. You can't do much more than we did today other than score the goal.

"Probably one goal wouldn't have flattered us, we should have been in front by more, but Brentford are a great side in great form with dangerous players, they're dangerous if you let them have the ball or on the counter.

"That's why they're doing so well, it was a moment of good play from them. We'll think we can do better with it but the final pass from Jota is a great ball and it's a great finish. We got in lots of good positions and that's the frustrating bit, I don't think anyone could have complained if we'd have won."

"I've not looked back at the penalty but the reaction of our players, no one really complained which suggests it struck Angus' arm, but I don't know I haven't seen it.

"He was upset on Thursday night as we all were, the penalty was only one of three they had on target, Davo' saved the penalty and the other one was routine, he's had very little to do but you have to do that. He's played his part in earning us a point today when it should have been more."

"We set the players a target of winning as many games as we've lost. We're one behind on that, finishing with a positive goal difference we're up on that, and being the best Barnsley team since 2000 so in terms of points return, I think we're there on that as well.

"We've got little things that we're aiming for because I want the players to get the credit they deserve, it's been a really big effort from start to finish throughout the season but we want to finish it in the best shape we can,"
