Barnsley 1-1 Chesterfield: Post Match Reaction

"Well, I thought the first half we looked dangerous from set-pieces but not much else,"

"I didn't think from open play we looked dangerous. We could have come in 2-1 up maybe, I really did feel that with the set-piece chances we had.

"Certain individuals didn't do enough and I said that at half time. I said you can't play in a first-team game like you're playing in the Under 21s. There were three or four that were playing like that. To be fair, they took it on. I wasn't too aggressive, I was genuine and honest.

"In adult football, you have to show the crowd that you have that desire to win. How do you do that? Well you do that by running fast, communicating with people around you and showing a positive body language, by being bold and dynamic when you get the ball.

"People will forgive as long as you're failing bold and trying to do things. They came out second half and gave it a right go. They showed a bit of character there, considering it's a young group. We pegged a very good side back to the edge of their 18-yard box for the majority of the second half."

"This is no disrespect to anybody but the pitch is not conducive to playing Barcelona-style football because you can't trust your touch,"

"If we'd have done that, they'd have just got behind the ball and took it off us.

"You have to play with your head down and everything becomes a fight.

"I still want to win. I want to win and play nice football but you have to play winning football.

"Of course I want to play good football but I want to win first."
