Barnsley 1-3 Reading: Post Match Reaction

Last updated : 30 August 2009 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

"It is not good to lose here at Oakwell so we are all very disappointed. I thought we started the game well and got a good goal when we were on top. The referee then gave them a free kick, which was never a foul against Darren Moore, and from that they managed to equalise when we did not deal with the resulting corner.

"We then went into the second half. I have not seen the penalty again but my initial reaction was that it was not a penalty. We were then too busy arguing about that and we conceded a third and the game went away from us.

"We are very disappointed with that. If it turns out that it was not a penalty then that is two decisions which have cost us the game.

"The game just went away from us in the end and we never really got a grasp on it in the closing stages. The wind did not help and everything just seemed to run away from us.

"We are as disappointed as the fans. This is our football club as well and we feel that frustration. I have never given up on anything in my life and I will be fighting to win the next game.

"Bobby Hassell should be fit again by the time we get back after the international break. We have O'Neil Thompson in with us now and he should benefit from another fortnight training with us".
