Barnsley 2-0 Blackburn: Post Match Reaction

"I'm delighted with the win"

"I know the scoreline makes it look comfortable, 2-0, but it wasn't like that I don't think, in fact it might flatter us if I'm honest. However, we were wasteful today and made the game much harder than it needed to be to be honest. I've seen a lot of Blackburn recently and their performances haven't justified the results. They've been unlucky in some games. They should have been on more points by now, they're a quality side with quality players so I think they're in a bit of a false position really. So I'm delighted with the result."

"We were extremely wasteful, especially at the start of the second half. We had a couple of good counter-attacks that we didn't take advantage of and then you know you're going to come under pressure, especially with just the one goal in it. Don't get me wrong, I thought we were good value for the win, without taking anything away from Blackburn. But it could and should have been much easier and that's down to how wasteful we were when in good positions. But at the end of the day, we might not have been at our best but there were things inside of the performance that still justified the win."

"It's about wins and about performances. But it's fine margins in this league, we all know that. We've had a run where we lost quite a few but I felt then that the boys were actually performing well and weren't getting the rewards for it. We're now on another good run now and whilst that momentum is positive and helps drive things a little, we won't be getting too carried away just as we don't if things aren't going so well. You need to retain your perspective."

"If you aim for 4th bottom you're limiting yourself. Don't get me wrong, we'd be happy with survival but we don't set that as the end goal. We're 9th now. We aren't satisfied with that either. It's all about how good can we be. How far can we go. That's how we work."
