Barnsley 2-3 Bristol City: Post Match Reaction

: "We started the game brightly and had the better of the opening exchanges. We had some good opportunities and numerous chances to take the lead but we looked a little lacklustre. We were on our heels really and they got on top and nicked the goal.

"We made one mistake and they punished us. We struggled a little with our shape and playing two out and out wingers meant we struggled a little defensively.

"The second goal was a big blow for us. We changed a little with our shape to cope but we could have made five or six changes. It was a difficult situation and we knew we needed a goal in the second half. Daniel (Bogdanovic) took his goal well and we will take things like that.

"We had some belief after that and we passed the ball better. We did not pass the ball well again and that was disappointing.

"We looked like we could get back into it but the sending off killed the game. I am not going to say anything about the referee or his display today because I will get into trouble.

"To rub salt into our wounds our keeper saved the penalty but we were asleep again and they put it away.

"That was a game we should have won and losing two on the bounce is very disappointing.

"We wanted to keep Tuesday night's game out of our thoughts but there has to be a question over that.

"I am just disappointed with the way we played today because we are capable of better than that. You will see a different side on Tuesday".
