Coventry 4-0 Barnsley: Post Match Reaction

Last updated : 03 February 2008 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

"We just did not do anything right this afternoon. I picked the right team but the players did not perform today. We expected more from them and I am really disappointed.

"Hopefully this will be a massive wake up call to some of them and we have put that kind of performance to bed here.

"We do not play the game on paper but I will maintain that I picked the right team. They did not perform and not one of them can come away from here and say they did.

"There is a very hard week in store for them and we will be ready and different against West Brom.

"We have to get back to basics now and I am confident that we have a good squad who can compete in this division. We have to do the horrible things at times out there and today we wanted to be too nice.

"We did not perform at all today and there is a lot of hard work in store for them and a lot of hard reality checks to come this week.

"We believe that we can compete at this level and we have a much better squad that last season. The scoreline here does not suggest that but you cannot judge us on one bad 90 minutes. I maintain that I picked the right team and I am not a happy man tonight. We have to dig in and make sure we perform better.

"My players did not turn up today. They will turn up on Monday and every day next week to make sure we are ready for the weekend".
