"I thought we were doing ok until the sending off. I am disappointed with the decision because, even at first glance, it did not look like he had caught him.

"Peter Lovenkrands told Luke (Steele) afterwards that he had not made any contact but he had to go over. I always felt that we could have got something from today but we struggled after the sending off.

"We were well in the game before that and we had worked hard to keep things tight. We went down to ten men and Newcastle got the first goal at a good time for them. They came out in the second half and made that advantage really count.

"Sometimes it can be tough to play against ten men but Newcastle did not find it difficult today.

"I thought our support was great but it was just one of those days for us when you have to say you were beaten by the better side albeit in circumstances we would rather not have happened.

"The sending off was the decisive moment. I have my goalkeeper saying he did not catch him and Peter (Lovenkrands) telling him the same afterwards. The referee has said he will take a look at it but he has told me that the law states 'trip or attempt to trip' although that is news to me. That was the decisive moment in the game.

"Nothing can change the result now and we have 12 more matches to go out and get points from. We have to regroup now and come back stronger next week".
