Rochdale 0-1 Barnsley: Post Match Reaction

Last updated : 05 October 2014 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

“I am pleased, we saw more of what we are about today. The last few games we’ve conceded too many goals. After a little re-jig today, it helped us a little bit. With Peter Ramage coming in it gave a big lift to us. It was a seamless transition him coming back in and I had no worries putting him straight in.

“Overall I thought it was a good game. It was an entertaining game. They’ve had chances, we’ve had chances. But, overall we’ve got the three points which I thought was fully deserved with the commitment they showed today.

“It (the goal) was a very good header and the quality of the ball helped as well, it was a good goal and settled us down a little bit.

“Ross Turnbull's not really had a save to make. There were a few shots come in that went wide. We showed them into areas that we felt were at our strongest. Overall, as a team we defended well and from the front, Sam Winnall’s put a great shift in.

“Coming to Rochdale at this stage of the season with how well they’re doing, you have to  have all those ingredients to get a result and we’ve done that today.

“He’s got in the areas where he can score and that’s what we brought him in for. Unfortunately, a couple’s rolled past the post for him but maybe next week.

“Luke Berry's done great. He’s been unfortunate to not be involved. The transition from non-league to League One takes its toll. It’s important we manage the players as best as we can and after a little rest, if you like, he’s come back in and he’s done great.

“Let’s hope we can put that little bit of a blip behind us and move forward again. We’ve got a very tough game on Tuesday now and we’ll take that as serious as we have today.”
