Barnsley manager Simon Davey spoke out following the Reds' 0-0 draw with Southampton this afternoon:

"We have come away from home and it is good to get a point although we had a great chance to win it late on. We have a clean sheet and a lot of positives so we have something to build on.

"Anderson (De Silva) came through his first game well; Heinz (Muller) also did well for us. We have a point and something to build on next week.

"You would put money on Iain (Hume) scoring then. He was in the right place and got there and I am sure he will do the same next week but it will go into the net.

"It is a clean sheet and we will go away with a point. We could have had all three. I thought tactically we played it spot on against a good passing side. We contained them well and looked to hit them on the break.

"It was a professional performance although we are a little disappointed not to have the win. We made changes to the team today because we had to change our luck".
