It seems the Reserve side has caught onto the trend that the first team have adopted, conceding late goals as Forest ran out 2-1 winners. Trialist Phil Mulryne had the specific paperwork signed in time in order to play in the game.

Michael Coulson grabbed the Reds' only goal as James Beaumont scored with ten minutes left to bury the Reds.

Only 20 minutes in, winger Anthony McParland limped off with an injury and was replaced by young Tom Beevor. Forest took the lead in stoppage time in the first half when ex-Rochdale striker Grant Holt lashed the ball past Kyle Letheren.

Coulson then equalised on 54 minutes when he found a yard of space to slot past Paddy Gamble in the Forest goal.

And with 10 minutes remaining, Beaumont scored the decisive goal to hand all three points to Forest.

Reds Team: Letheren, Harban, Williams, Tonge, Meynell, Heslop (Potter 72), McParland (Beevor 20), Wroe, Jarman, Coulson, Mulryne.
Subs: Loukes, McGrory, Waggett.
