After four straight victories Barnsley were defeated at home in the league for the first time in 2015.
After seven successive matches where Barnsley have been beaten in the possession stakes, they shared 50% with Fleetwood last night.
Peter Ramage’s fifth minute strike was Barnsley’s joint second quickest goal of the season. Two of The Reds’ five fastest goals in 2014-2015 have been scored by the defender.
It was Ramage’s third goal of the season and he has also now been booked in two of the three games he has netted.
Barnsley have scored in 11 home league games in a row, their best run since 2011 when they managed to net in 17 games in a row at Oakwell.
Barnsley have opened the scoring in each of their last eight home games for the first time since they won promotion from this division in 2005-2006. They managed nine in that season.
Both sides scored in the opening quarter of an hour at Oakwell for the second time this season. The 3-2 victory over Colchester was the other occasion.
Barnsley took the lead but trailed at half time for the third time this season. The other two occasions were against Scunthorpe and at Walsall, and they have lost all three games, failing to score in the second half.
Before last weekend Conor Hourihane had played the full 90 minutes in every game this season (33 games) In two games since then he has been dropped and substituted.
Last night’s attendance of 8,328 was the lowest at Oakwell this season.
