The remarkable run continues! Barnsley secured their tenth win in twelve league games.
To put this run into perspective back on the 12th December, Barnsley were 24th in the division and Coventry were 1st with a 21 point gap. Now just 10 goals separate them in 6th and 7th respectively.
This was Barnsley's sixth successive home league win, their best run since October to December 1994.
For the second successive game Barnsley scored two goals from set pieces with a defender and a striker benefiting. It was Barnsley born Marc Roberts first goal for his hometown club.
Another welcome shut out arrived for Barnsley and they have kept seven clean sheets in the last 10.
This was only the second time Barnsley have beaten Coventry by more than a one goal margin since the Premier League campaign.
Of the league’s top ten before last night’s game only Burton and Barnsley managed victories.
