Barnsley 3-1 Bradford City

Last updated : 12 October 2014 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

After going 67 matches without coming from a goal down to win, The Reds have now managed it twice in 12 games.

It is however the first time The Reds have conceded the first goal and come back to score as many as three times since a 4-2 win over Bristol City back in April 2011.

Barnsley made it back to back league wins for the first time since March and recorded only their second home league win of the season, their first since August.

Jason Kennedy put Bradford in front after just 45 seconds, the first time The Reds have conceded in the first minute of a game since Adel Tarrabt’s effort secured a 1-0 win for QPR in April 2011.

Sam Winnall now has back-to-back goals for Barnsley in all competitions, his first back-to-back goals since netting in four successive games for Scunthorpe back in February.

Kane Hemmings netted Barnsley’s third in the 95th minute; meaning two Barnsley strikers scored in a league match for the first time since the last home victory- the 4-1 thumping of Gillingham back in August.

The Reds have now netted three goals on 90 minutes or later this season.

Barnsley have now scored a first half goal just once in the last eight games in all competitions.

This was Barnsley’s first home win against Bradford since Danny Wilson was last in the Oakwell dugout for this fixture, the memorable Premier League promotion sealing 2-0 win back in April 1997. The Bantams had been unbeaten in five visits.

Both side have now won 36 of the 102 meetings.

Today was also Bradford’s first away league defeat of the season. Only Bristol City, Notts County and Leyton Orient remain undefeated on the road in League One in 2014-2015.
