Blackpool 1-1 Barnsley

Last updated : 20 September 2015 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

Barnsley opened the scoring for only the third time in eight league games this season and led at half time for only the third time too.

Barnsley have struck in the opening ten minutes of two away matches for the first time since the 2010-2011 season.  They have failed to win any of those four matches however, drawing three and losing one (Bristol City, Leeds, Chesterfield, Blackpool)

Blackpool have conceded the first goal on five occasions this season and yesterday was the only the second time they have come back to level.

Barnsley opened the scoring for only the third time this campaign (W1 D1 L1)

A Blackpool player scored a second half goal for the first time this season. Their only previous second half strike was an own goal.

12 of Barnsley’s last 14 goals in all competitions have been scored by Marley Watkins, Lewin Nyatanga, Conor Hourihane or Sam Winnall.

Barnsley had 60% possession at Bloomfield Road, their most in a league match since the 4-1 win at home to Gillingham back in August of last year (63%). It is their most in an away league match since November 2013 when they were actually defeated, 1-0 at Millwall (60%)

The Reds had four shots on target, the least amount that Blackpool have conceded at home this season.

It was the Seasiders first point in front of their own supporters in 2015-2016, following three defeats but they have failed to win any of their last 13.

Blackpool have also only netted two goals at home this season, both by Jack Redshaw.

The Reds have now lost only two of their past 12 trips to Bloomfield Road and they have scored 98 goals in 97 games against them overall.
