Bournemouth 1-0 Barnsley

Last updated : 18 September 2013 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

…………….. Barnsley’s tally of four points from the opening seven games mirrors the start to the 2009-2010 campaign.

Barnsley have now failed to win any of their last 11 leagues games on the road and have now lost their first four away games of the season for the first time since 2000/2001.

The Reds failed to score at Dean Court for the first time in nine visits, dating back to 1977 and this was their first defeat there since 1989.

Barnsley have failed to keep a clean sheet so far this season, again their worst run at the start of a season for four years.

A match involving Barnsley was goal-less at half time for only the second time in 11 matches and the first time this season in a game involving Bournemouth.

Barnsley have the worst goal difference in the Championship and their goals against tally of 17 is three more than the next highest (Middlesbrough)

Altogether Barnsley have won just two of their last 16 matches in all competitions and have lost six of the nine they have played in 2013-2014.
