QPR 2-0 Barnsley

Last updated : 07 October 2013 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

Barnsley have now lost each of their last nine matches at Loftus Road and have just one victory from 25 visits.

QPR were 0-0 at half time for the seventh time in eight games, and they have gone on and scored second half winners in six of those seven matches.

Barnsley meanwhile also failed to net in the first half for the third game out of the last four and have been 0-0 at the break in each of those three matches.

Queens Park Rangers remain unbeaten, the only team in the Championship to be so and now just one of two in the Football League after Preston lost at Peterborough today.

They have also just set a club record of eight consecutive league matches without conceding a goal.

Before Rob Green, the last goalkeeper to hold QPR's clean sheet record was Peter Springett who also used to keep goal for Barnsley.

Barnsley have lost all their six games on the road this season- a club record and have gone an unlucky 13 matches since they last won away from Oakwell, eight of which have ended in defeat.

The Football League’s leakiest defence has gone their first 11 matches without a clean sheet for the first time since 1966-67 when it took 12 matches to keep a shut out.

The Reds have also lost eight of their first 11 league matches for the first time since that same season 47 years ago. They did recover however to finish 16th that campaign.

Overall Barnsley have now won just two of the last 20 matches in all competitions and one of the last 14.

Bobby Hassell made his first appearance of the season, coming on as a 67th minute substitute for Peter Ramage. It is the 33year old’s first appearance since the 16th April.
