Reds Battle From Behind Twice But Forest Too Strong.

Last updated : 14 September 2013 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

Barnsley came from behind twice at the City Ground but a late goal from old nemesis Darius Henderson sends Reds to a third straight away defeat.

Barnsley have now failed to win any of their last 10 leagues games on the road, whilst victory for Forest today makes it four wins and a draw from their first five home games in 2013-2014.

This was Barnsley’s first defeat at the City Ground in four visits but they have now failed to win any of their last six trips.

Chris O’Grady bagged his fourth goal in five games. He has now netted 10 times for Barnsley with this only his third away from home.

O’Grady’s effort came from the penalty spot, the first time Barnsley have been awarded a spot-kick since March when Chris Dagnall converted in a 2-1 win over Brighton.

Tomasz Cywka scored a stunning freekick to make the scores 2-2. It was the Pole’s seventh goal for the club, six of which have come on the road.

Remarkably The Reds have won just one of the seven matches Cywka has scored in.

Barnsley have four points from their opening six games. Their lowest return at this stage for four years.

Another three goals hit the Barnsley net this afternoon which makes it 16 for the season so far- the most in the division. Only Tranmere and Crewe (17) have conceded more in the top five divisions.

Barnsley have failed to keep a clean sheet so far this season, again their worst run at the start of a season for four years.

Kelvin Etuhu’s own goal on the stroke of half-time was the second time this season a Barnsley player has put through their own net. The other was at Blackpool and came in injury time in the second half.
