Scunthorpe United 2-0 Barnsley

Last updated : 01 November 2015 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

Barnsley lose six league games in a row for the first time since the Premier League season of 1997-1998. It is the first time they have lost six in a row in the Football League since the opening six games of the 1986-87 season.

All four sides in the League One relegation zone have now lost nine matches this season, the most in the division.

Since winning six in a row back in March, Barnsley have won only five of the subsequent 24 league matches.

They have lost every league game in October (six), the first time they have lost every game of a calendar month since September 2013.

Barnsley have failed to score a goal from open play now in any of their past SEVEN matches in all competitions.

The Reds were behind at half time for the fourth time in their past six league games overall.

Barnsley are the joint lowest drawers in the division with two. They have gone eight games since the last stalemate.

The Reds have gone seven games without a clean sheet in all competitions.

Nick Townsend who became the first Barnsley keeper to be booked since Ross Turnbull was sent off in December last year has kept only one shutout in his ten appearances.

Barnsley have picked up at least two yellow cards in each of their last six matches.

Scunthorpe beat Barnsley at Glanford Park for the first time in five meetings. Barnsley had already won twice there previously this season.
