Swindon 2-0 Barnsley.

Barnsley have now lost six away games in a row for the first time since they lost the first six of last season.

Even more worrying for the Reds loyal travelling supporters is that they have also now failed to even score in any of their last four away from Oakwell. It is their longest away drought since going six without a goal in February/March 2012. Remarkably before this they had only failed to score in one of the previous 10 away games this season.

They did manage two shots on target however, double what they have produced in each of the last two away matches.

Conor Hourihane failed to start a Barnsley match for the first time this season. The 24 year old had been an ever present for The Reds but was relegated to the bench after scoring just twice in 14 appearances.

Barnsley conceded a first half goal for the first time in seven matches in all competitions.

The 14th minute effort by Raphael Branco was the earliest The Reds have conceded since they were beaten in the 1st minute of a 3-1 win over Bradford in October (21 matches ago)

Barnsley went in at the break behind for the first time since Boxing Day.

Barnsley failed to score against Swindon in either league meetings of a season for the first time since 1989-1990.

Danny Wilson, often criticised for making late substitutions made two half time changes, the earliest he has made two subs since a 3-0 home defeat to Leicester in March 2014 when Martin Cranie was withdrawn after 11 minutes and Paddy McCourt after 45.

Barnsley’s opponents have enjoyed the most possession in each of the past seven matches.

For the second successive game no Barnsley was booked it is only the fifth time that has happened in 28 games. It is the first time they have gone back-to-back league games without a card since the final two matches of last season.

Barnsley lost a game that both Peter Ramage and Martin Cranie started for the first time in four matches and only the sixth time from 13 games this season.

Barnsley have now won only one of their last five trips to the County Ground and only two of the last 10 clashes overall.

Swindon have done the league double over Barnsley for the first time since 1987-1988, and they now edge the head to head meetings with 17 wins to 16.
