Barnsley future still in doubt

The Reds have been given another fortnight to settle their creditors' voluntary agreement.

The club will remain in administration until a tax bill for £250,000 is settled.
Two deadlines, April 30 and May 31 have already passed with owner Peter Doyle trying to secure new investment for Oakwell.

Matthew Dunham, of administrators RSM Robson Rhodes, confirmed: "We are working with the creditors and Mr Doyle to agree a way to move forward."

It has also emerged that the outstanding transfer fee owed to Oakwell for the transfer of Chris Barker to Cardiff is not due to be settled until August.

Barnsley Supporters Society have circulated a letter to the Football League, the FA, Mr Doyle, RSM Robson Rhodes and the Department of Trade voicing their increasing concern "over the handling of the ongoing process of administration at Barnsley FC."
