Barowclough given new short-term deal
Glyn Hodges has offered him the deal in order to give him the opportunity to prove his fitness.
Hodges told the official website: "We have offered Carl a three-month deal to give him another chance to prove his fitness."
"He has talent but needs to be fit so we will see how the next few months goes."
The 21-year-old has suffered a succession of injuries since breaking into the first team in March 2001, and made only five appearances last season.
