FA Cup Second Round: Barnsley 1-1 Bradford City Post Match Reaction

Last updated : 03 December 2005 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

" I think both teams could probably done without a replay in December but Bradford deserved a draw out there. Windass missed a lot of chances particularly in the first half and I think we got away with it a little.

We made some tactical changes at half-time and I thought we were better second half.

We did not clear our lines for the goal and I do not know whether it took a deflection or a bad bounce but it went in over Scott ( Flinders)

We had been working on getting good balls to the back post all week. I think Bobby Hassell did well across and it will do Paul Hayes the world of good to get it into the net. i was pleased with our goal.

I think it was a great football match between two evenly matched teams. It was again a thriller for the neutrals.

I can have no complaints with the result and think it was fair but the last thing we wanted from a football point of view was a replay. Having said that I think the chairman will be happy with the extra revenue"

Andy Ritchie was talking to the Official Barnsley F.C website at www.barnsleyfc.co.uk

Barnsley Boy says: Don’t quite agree with Ritchie saying this was a thriller as it was far from it. For the second home game in a row the Reds look disjointed and lacklustre and again were lucky to escape undefeated. Lets hope a plum tie can give the team a reason to play well in a replay that we could certainly do without this month!
