Reds goalkeeper Scott Flinders has been called up to the England U20 squad for next month's Toulon Tournament.

Scott told the official Barnsley FC website: "I am in shock at the moment to be fair. There is no other way of putting it and it has still not really sunk in.

"I have had to rush around and change my holiday plans but there was no way I was going to let this opportunity pass me by. It is too big a chance for me to miss and I am absolutely delighted to have the chance of winning my first international cap for England.

"I spoke to John Lukic last night after I had the call from the FA and he told me to make the most out of the experience. He said that I am there on merit and the most important thing is I enjoy it because playing for your country is something to treasure.

"We are all meeting up in London on the 27th before flying out to France two days later. There are three matches in the group stage before the semi finals and final. I am really, really looking forward to it."
