Its Getting Desperate

Winning promotion isn't all its cracked to be obviously as Manchester United's Eddie Johnson joined a growing list of people who have decided against signing for Andy Ritchie.

Johnson bizarrely decided to join League One Bradford City on a two year deal.

He joins Stephen McPhail, Michael Chopra and Stephen Foster in players Ritchie has now missed out on.

He told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"I found out late last night that Stephen has gone to Burnley and it is disappointing but that's the way things go in football. Hopefully Antony Kay will sign his new deal next week so strengthening that area of the team is not as necessary as it was before.

"It is a pity that we could not tempt Stephen to Oakwell.

"It is the same with Eddie really and it is a pity that we could not bring him to us as well but we wish them both well".

I think its now time we kept our transfer dealings quiet like we did when signing Paul Hayes, Brian Howard and Richard Kell as other clubs seem to be nipping in before us!
