Pacy Southend winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce could be the final piece in Simon Davey's transfer jigsaw this week after Southend boss Steve Tilson admitted defeat in holding onto the former Charlton winger.
Davey had a bid of around £250,000 rejected by recently relegated Southend at the beginning of the month but Campbell-Ryce was left out of the Southend squad that defeated Millwall on Saturday and Tilson told BBC Sport:
"We both decided it would be best to leave him out against Millwall,"
"It's no secret that Barnsley are keen to sign him."
I named Campbell-Ryce as most impressive from the opposition in BOTH of Barnsley's games with Southend in the Championship last season.
