Barnsley's Republic of Ireland star Stephen McPhail is a major injury worry for Saturday's big clash with his former club Nottingham Forest at Oakwell.

McPhail tore fibres in his calf during the 3-1 defeat at Swansea on Bank Holiday Monday and is working hard with physio and assistant manager Rick Holden.

Holden told the Official Site:

" Stephen is progressing slowly at the moment after been injured at Swansea City. He is despearte to be fit for the Forest game but we have a lot of matches coming upin a short space of time so it may be wiser not to rush him and risk him

He tore a few fibres in his calf and the injury itself was so minuscule that it did not even show up on a scan. It was a bit of a freak really although he did get absolutely clattered late in the Swansea game. He was hacked at knee level and as he went backwards he over extended his calf as he steadied himself"
