McPhail Wants To Stay!

Midfielder Stephen McPhail has expressed his desire to stay at Oakwell beyond this season.

The Rupublic of Ireland midfielder only signed a 1 year deal when he arrived from Leeds United in the summer and today told the Official Site:

" My contract is up in the summer and I want to speak to the club again about staying here. I want to sort something out but that is down to the man in charge and the chairman."

" I am happy here but I have picked up too many injuries in my first year to really show what i am capable of. I have not being able to get going and play to the standard that I want."

" I have really enjoyed the last six or seven weeks where I have being back in the middle of the park but it is frustrating that i am just going to get where I want to be and the season will end."

BarnsleyBoy says: Admittingly McPhail has put in some good performances over the last couple of weeks most notably the home game with Torquay and away at Luton but his performances over the course of the season have left alot to be desired and it could all depend on wether Barnsley can really afford the luxury of a McPhail.
