One More In Before Tomorrow's Deadline?

Last updated : 30 August 2005 By BarnsleyBoy

Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie has handed a contract to trialist Marc Richards who has impressed during reserve games (including scoring a goal against the Wednesdays).

Richards is a striker who had a fairly prolific career at Northampton Town where he scored 13 goals in 66 games before a knee injury ended his time at Sixfields.

This is what Ritchie had to say whilst talking to the Official Barnsley F.C site:

" We have offered Marc a contract here and we will have to wait and see what his answer is. He has other offers on the table from other clubs so we will have to wait and see if he wants to play here.

There is no rush because Marc is not contracted to any club and the deal would not have to be done before the deadline"
