Barnsley's giant defender Darren Moore will talk about faith and football at an event at Brooklands Hotel next month.
The solid centre-back will share stories from his football career, as well as giving his thoughts on the Reds' start to the season.

Supporters will have the opportunity to meet Darren and ask him questions, whilst the former Derby County and West Brom star will also be on hand to sign autographs.

Speaking ahead of the event, to be held on September 20 at 6pm, Darren said: "I would urge people to come. I will be talking about football and also about my faith in God, and how that has helped me during my career.

"Even though I had become a professional footballer, I had doubts that I wasn't good enough. But after I attended that meeting I became a Christian and I realised that God loved me, it was an amazing experience."

The event is being organised by International City Church, which meets every Sunday evening at Brooklands Hotel, near Dodworth. There will be live music and an appearance from story-teller and funnyman Mark Ritchie. For more details, visit www.internationalcitychurch.com or telephone 01302 366522.
