Barnsley have today clinched just the second signing of January's transfer window 26 days in.

The player in question is 28 year old Maltese striker Daniel Bogdanovic on an undisclosed fee from Bulgarian side Lokomotiv Sofia.

Throughout his career, he has played in Malta for Sliema Wanderers, Naxxar Lions, Valletta and Marsaxlokk. He has also played in Bulgaria and Hungary. Altogether in his league career he has bagged 88 goals in 161 games.

Bogdanovic had a trial with Watford in 2007 but couldn't agree terms with the Hornets. He has won 20 caps for Malta, 18 as substitute, scoring once against Greece.

The signing of the Libya-born forward has now been confirmed by the club and Bogdanovic has signed until the summer of 2010.

He becomes the second signing at Oakwell this January after Hugo Colace made his loan switch from Newells Old Boys permanent.

Davey also told BBC Radio Sheffield that he hoped this would not be his last transfer activity this month and that he was still hopeful to dip into the English market.
