Barnsley have today made their THIRD signing all before knowing which division they will be competing in next season.

Following in the footsteps of Andy Yiadom and Stefan Payne, The Reds have recruited Kayden Jackson from Welsh outfit Wrexham.

The forward, 22, started his career at Swindon before moving onto Tamworth and then Wrexham who finished 2015-2016 in eighth position in the National League. Jackson made 36 appearances this season netting four goals.

He arrives at Oakwell for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract and within hours of his arrival the club tweeted: “The 22-year-old is now officially the fastest player amongst the Barnsley squad after completing sprint testing at Oakwell.”

Meanwhile Barnsley’s medical department have been honoured by the Football Medical Association as last night they were named “Medical and Sports Science Team of the Year” for 2015-2016. Barnsley’s head physio Craig Sedgwick said:

"We're obviously absolutely delighted to win this award. We have an excellent team here at Barnsley and I'm delighted for everyone involved."
