Interesting Stats

Barnsley have lost each of their last three meetings with Blackburn and have not won any of the last six.

Their last victory over their Lancastrian rivals was way back in January 2000 and by a 5-1 score line!

The Reds have won just six of their 28 trips to Ewood Park, one of the last six and none of the last three.

That solitary win in six came when Georgi Hristov and Neil Shipperley led them to a 2-1 success exactly 14 years ago this month.

Blackburn need two more goals to reach 100 v Barnsley. They scored two and three in the meetings last season.

Rovers have scored goals in the final 10 minutes in six of their last 10 games against Barnsley, earning them five points and an FA Cup replay which they went on to win.

Like Barnsley, Blackburn have picked up just one point from their first three league games and are yet to win any game this season or any of their last six.

In total, Rovers have won just three of their last 21 matches and only two of their last nine home matches.

They have also failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their eight matches.

Defeat tomorrow would make this Blackburn’s worst start to a season at this level for 62 years.  Back in the 1951-52 season they started with seven defeats and two draws from their opening nine matches.

Barnsley have won just one of their last 11 matches in all competitions and have failed to win any of their last nine on the road.

This is Barnsley’s second away game of the season. They have failed to win either of their first two away league games in five of the last six seasons.

2011-2012 was also the last time Barnsley failed to win any of their first four matches of a season. The last time they did not win any of the first five was in 1992-1993 when they failed to win any of the first six.
